BHBAN – Bosnia and Herzegovina Business Angel Network is the first organized community of angel investors in the country, launched in 2022 with the support of Foundation 787, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the startup ecosystem in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
BHBAN was created to support the growth of innovative, high-potential businesses across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Western Balkans. Our goal is to connect private investors with early-stage startups by facilitating smart capital, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
We bring together experienced professionals — entrepreneurs, business leaders, and ecosystem supporters — who are passionate about fueling entrepreneurship through strategic early-stage investments. A key focus of our work is syndicated investing — enabling members to co-invest alongside one another and with regional angel networks, reducing individual risk while increasing access to larger, more promising deals.
BHBAN connects its members with promising founders through regular pitch sessions, a structured due diligence process, and shared investment opportunities. While our members seek strong financial returns — typically through exits within 5 to 8 years — we also recognize the broader impact of angel investing on economic development and innovation in the region.
With support from Foundation 787 and other partners, BHBAN ensures that startups are investment-ready by offering members access to a curated and vetted pipeline, as well as guidance throughout the investment process. As the network grows, we continue to build a platform where capital meets purpose — and where investors actively shape the future of business in Southeast Europe.
By joining BHBAN, you become a part of a community shaping the local and regional startup scene: investing in bold ideas, sharing expertise, and connecting with fellow investors across the region and Europe.

BHBAN has focused on building a credible and connected angel investing community — not through volume, but through relevance, trust, and consistent engagement grounded in real activity.
Investor learning has been central from the beginning. Our first Angel Academy was delivered with Spring Activator (Canada), and we’ve since expanded with the Academy of Zero One Hundred, Swiss EP, and our own tailored sessions — offered both online and in person for new and experienced investors alike.
Pitch sessions are organized regularly, typically every quarter or more frequently, featuring pre-vetted startups selected through a structured pipeline. These sessions are part of a broader investment flow that includes due diligence and, when relevant, support from experienced international angels. While not every pitch results in funding, many startups presented through BHBAN have moved into serious discussions, with several progressing through due diligence and into co-investment — often in collaboration with regional angel groups.
We are present across the country. So far, BHBAN has hosted meetups and events in Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Tešanj, and Tuzla — creating space for peer exchange, founder discovery, and informal conversations that often lead to action. These are only the first steps, as we continue expanding to new locations and communities.
Each year, we bring the community together at the Business Angel Summit in Sarajevo — a flagship, invite-only event that gathers hundreds of investors, founders, and ecosystem actors from over 15 countries.
Behind all of this is close collaboration with Foundation 787 and other partners to support investment readiness, build co-investment opportunities, and ensure that members have access to practical tools, a vetted pipeline, and expert support throughout the process.
This is just a glimpse into how BHBAN operates — practical, evolving, and designed around the needs of its members.
